Account and data deletion

You can delete your Macro Marmot account and the personal data tied to it at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your data.
Delete from inside the app
- Open Macro Marmot and go to Settings.
- Tap Account, then Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and personal data are scheduled for deletion right away.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email privacy@macromarmot.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed. We will complete verified requests within 30 days.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we remove the personal data associated with it, including:
- Your account and login credentials.
- Your logged foods, meals, recipes, weight entries, goals, and body metrics.
- Photos you uploaded.
- Your shared recipes, foods, and public profile links.
What we may keep, and for how long
We may retain limited information after deletion only where we are required to or have a lawful reason:
- Transaction and billing records needed for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention, kept for the period the law requires. Subscription billing records are also held by Google Play under its own policies.
- Backups, which are rotated and purged on a regular schedule, so residual copies may persist for a short time before they age out.
- Security and abuse logs where needed to protect the service.
These remnants are not used to rebuild your profile and are purged on their normal schedule.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a subscription billed through Google Play. To stop future charges, cancel the subscription in your Google Play account settings. See our Terms of Service for billing details.
