Frequently asked questions
What is Macro Marmot?
A nutrition and macro tracker built to make daily logging fast and to do the math for you: trend weight, measured maintenance, and where your goal is actually headed. It is made for people who weigh and cook their food and want sharing that just works.
What platforms does it run on?
Android first, with web and iOS planned. One account syncs across your devices.
Does it work offline?
Macro Marmot is online-first with offline tolerance. You can keep logging without a connection, and your entries sync the next time you are online.
Who owns my data? Can I get it out?
You do. You can export your data and delete your account at any time from inside the app. See Account and data deletion.
How much does it cost?
The goal is honest, low, annual pricing rather than a monthly subscription that feels like rent. The final number lands before launch, and waitlist members hear it first. See Pricing.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, the plan is to offer a free trial so you can try the paid features before paying. Trial terms are shown in Google Play and in the app at purchase.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed through Google Play, so you cancel anytime in your Google Play account settings. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Is this medical or nutrition advice?
No. Macro Marmot is a tracking tool that gives you estimates. It is not a substitute for a doctor or dietitian. Talk to a qualified professional before changing your diet or exercise. See the Terms of Service.
Can I scan barcodes?
Yes. Barcode scanning looks up products against public food databases. Coverage is strongest for US products and grows over time.
What about Health Connect?
On Android, you can optionally connect Health Connect so the app can factor in data you approve, such as activity or weight. You control what it can access and can revoke it anytime.
How does sharing work?
You can share recipes, foods, and your profile through links. Anything you mark public is viewable by anyone with the link, and you can make it private again later. See the Privacy Policy.
